Went to PC World to buy a Belkin Wireless Bridge today. The new house I am moving into provides wireless internet but I need to connect my Xbox 360 & PC using an Ethernet cable, this bridge will allow me to do so.

Got home, set it up, following the instructions, surprise surprise it didn’t work! I noticed that there was a free phone helpline, instead of spending ages trying to solve the problem I thought I would give them a call (after all, it was free!).

After a long automated telephone system I was transferred to an Indian Call Centre. After spending 10 minutes+ giving them all kinds of details (my name, phone number, childhood hero, foot size etc) I was able to explain my problem. I needn’t have bothered!

The person on the other end of the phone was clearly reading from set text and knew nothing about computers, let alone networking. After being told clearly I had a Wireless Access Point and Wireless Bridge I kept being asked what new Wireless Network Card I had and that I should install drivers for it!

I was getting frustrated, very frustrated. By the time I was told to hard reset my ADSL Router I decided to end the phone call. I was getting nowhere and had I followed the instructions given to me my PC setup would be in a bad state.

Within 5 minutes of ending the call I had solved the problem myself. Very pleased with myself and my new network. :o)

  • About Me

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
