This weekend I made not one, but two trips to the cinema.

Saturday night, I went with John and Simon to Bristol. After visiting Nandos, we made our way to Showcase to watch Ghost Town.

Ghost Town stars Ricky Gervais who plays Bertram Pincus, a dentist, who, following an accident during a routine operation, is able to see dead people. This is no Sixth Sense, though – the only scary thing about this movie is the disturbing naked ghost.

Gervais’ character is a selfish, lonely man who has a strong dislike of his fellow human beings. It’s not until the ghosts start harassing him, asking him to fix their problems in the real world (Gervais is the only one who can interact with both humans and ghosts) that he changes his ways – oh, and a pretty girl comes along which influences his personality transformation (in a typical romcom manner).

I really liked this film. It had a lot of funny moments and had a nice, feel-good feeling. If you want a fun, warm film to watch on a cold autumn evening, watch this. If you want a horrible, unsettling movie, watch Saw V.

Today I went to watch the new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.

QoS starts 20 minutes after the previous Bond film, Casino Royale, ended, with 007 having captured a baddie he shot in the leg. Cue a fast car chase through the Italian mountains and the infamous title sequence.

I wasn’t at all impressed with Casino Royale, although kept the faith in Daniel Craig, blaming a poor script as opposed to an inappropriate successor to Pierce Brosnan. I was right. QoS is far better. Craig did very well.

There is a lot less ‘chitty chat’ and a lot more of what Bond does best – chasing bad guys, blowing things up, shooting people and seducing anything of the opposite sex – yet still finding time to drink copious amounts of alcohol in between (and driving).

Don’t believe the movie critics or the Bond geeks who are boycotting the film. It may not be a classic, but QoS is the best modern day 007 movie since GoldenEye.

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
