I got a multipack bag of those new Walkers crisps recently. If I’m honest, I’m not very impressed.
Onion Bhaji – they’re ok. Unsurprisingly tastes a bit like curry, but a very weak flavour.
Fish & Chips – not liking fish, I have not even tried these.
Cajun squirrel – having never feasted on real squirrel, I cannot really judge the authenticity of the flavour. They tasted meaty, strange and not very nice.
Builder’s Breakfast – going by the name, I initially expected these to taste of cigarettes and coffee. Turns out, they just tasted very strongly of hard boiled egg. I do like egg, but not to that extent.
Chili & Chocolate – the strangest flavour of the lot, but probably my favourite. Does what it says on the packet – tastes literally of chili and chocolate.
Crispy Duck and Hoisin – with this being duck, I thought they would taste of bread (after all, ducks eat enough of the stuff) Like the squirrel flavour, they’re very meaty and taste weird – I don’t know if that’s the hoisin, whatever that is.
You can vote for your favourite flavour on the Walkers website. The winner will be made a permanent member of the crisp family.
I personally wouldn’t buy any of these again and will stick to Cheese & Onion or Smokey Bacon.
