I came across this rather troubling story on the BBC website about a spider smuggler.

After some Googling, I found the offender’s online shop. My findings were even more disturbing than the news story itself. Apparently, you can order spiders and other creepy crawlies off the internet – they arrive in the post, courtesy of the Royal Mail!

Before any of you get any ideas, I will not be opening, or signing for, any unsuspected packages in the post – especially those marked ‘FRAGILE’. Any boxes that arrive at my flat will be treated as a terrorist attack, giving me no choice but to call the bomb disposal unit.

Apparently horse-chestnuts or 'conkers' to the common man, are a good spider deterant. Better than running around with a flame thrower looking like a rabid Jon Goodman.

What do you do with the conkers? Hit the spiders with them?

I don't think conkers will do much in this case. Just a description from the website about one of the spiders…

"Selenocosmia are however in a league of their own and are 6 inches of pure evil. Not only are they fearlessly aggressive but also exceptionally fast so only suitable for experienced keepers. If provoked not only will they bite, they will shoot across your floor, steal your TV and beat up your cat before disappearing."

Apparently the very presence reminds them of death. Failing that yes, you might as well stone them.

  • About Me

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
