Today’s blog doesn’t do much to disprove the myth, that all football fans and Twitter users are stupid.

My discovery was made, rather unsurprising, on Twitter. It’s a rather long thread of tweets, so I have put them on a separate page.

Oh, and before you ask, I wasn’t involved in this conversation – although, out of frustration, it did make me want to bash my head against a brick wall, until that old grey matter fell out of my ears.

I guess it makes a change to those disgusting trolls, who send racist, sexist and homophobic abuse, to celebrities and everyday members of the public, over social media.

The US animal rights organisation, PETA, have been sounding off on Twitter and understandably upsetting a lot of people, by directing criticism in the direction of the late, great Steve Irwin.

#SteveIrwin was killed while harassing a ray; he dangled his baby while feeding a crocodile & wrestled wild animals who were minding their own business. Today’s #GoogleDoodle sends a dangerous, fawning message. Wild animals are entitled to be left alone in their natural habitats.

Steve Irwin’s actions were not on target with his supposed message of protecting wildlife. A real wildlife expert & someone who respects animals for the individuals they are leaves them to their own business in their natural homes.

It is harassment to drag exotic animals, including babies taken from their mothers, around from TV talk shows to conferences & force them to perform as Steve Irwin did. Animals deserve to live as they want to, not as humans demand––the #GoogleDoodle should represent that.

Here is the offending animation…

As someone who has always been a keen supporter of animal rights, I was surprised to find myself feeling the need to post a blog, criticising a company whose aim is to apparently protect the welfare of animals.

However, I struggle to see how anyone who saw Steve Irwin’s fantastic work, cannot appreciate how he always had the best interests of the animals at heart. I am not going to lie and say that the snakes and crocodiles he handled didn’t get aggravated, but he only made contact with creatures to demonstrate their sheer beauty and power. It must not be forgotten, that he always kept their stress levels to a minimum, by using correct handling techniques, while ensuring contact time was always as brief as possible.

Many people have said how, by watching Steve’s work with animals, they were educated on wildlife and even developed an interest of their own on the subject.

Steve Irwin also built a zoo, which is still open today, being run by his family. The zoo focuses on animal conservation and has saved many animals from extinction.

So, PETA – while, as an animal lover, I appreciate your aims and aspirations, I cannot agree with you on Steve Irwin. In fact, I feel that you should cultivate yourselves more on his work, before issuing an apology to his family.

Roman having a Saturday morning rest. What makes you think that he tired himself out yesterday?

Roman has been a bloody nightmare today! For the past week, we have allowed him the freedom to explore our front room, from beyond the boundaries of his run.

You would have thought that he would be grateful and repay us with loving licks, or even a luxury vegetable box, sourced from Mr McGregor’s garden.

Unfortunately for Claire and I, for all his  good points (of which there are many), Roman can be rather naughty and is known to take advantage of generosity shown his way…

The biggest problem we face, when releasing Roman into the big wide world of our front room, is that he bites wood – mainly a gorgeous coffee table, which I am very fond of.

I never normally tell Roman off, but after witnessing him tear a generous chunk of wood from the table, right in front of my very eyes, I would be lying if I didn’t shout at our little one-year-old boy.

I’m not proud of my colourful language and certainly wouldn’t use it in front of a 12-month-old human baby – especially as I told our little bunny to “F*** off”, before calling him a “T**t” and an alternative to the name “Richard Head”. It could have been worse – I could have shouted that other unfortunate man’s name, “Mike Hunt”.

If he continues being a tear-away, I think that I will have no choice, but to buy this book. I am aware that, as a vegetarian, I am unable to eat meat; although in this case, I think I could make an exception.

When Roman isn’t being a bad bunny, he’s being a stupid one. His latest obsession is with our big green armchair. He absolutely loves to jump up onto it.

The problem is, that while he can easily hop onto the armchair, he is unable to pluck up the courage to jump back down, onto the floor.

This leads to him attempting to find another means of escaping the towering piece of lounge furniture. There are only three ways of doing this – jumping from one of the two arm rests, or climbing over the back of the chair.

All of these alternative means of absconding his self-imposed jail sentence, would result in a far greater leap to the floor, compared to jumping back down the way he came. While we doubt he would willingly jump down, hopping onto one of the emergency exits does pose a risk of him falling and breaking a bone.

Blocking Roman’s access to the armchair may have done the trick.

Everything would be so much easier, if Roman would just tolerate being picked up. He has always hated it. Out of respect for our pet rabbit, we have given up trying to pick him up for cuddles; although if we could just lift him from the chair and carefully place him back onto the floor, it would make everyone’s lives easier.

For those concerned, Roman did manage to get back onto the floor safely. The first thing he did, once establishing his footing on level ground, was to try and jump back onto the chair again… Mike Hunt!

Following on from yesterday’s blog, where I discovered the horrifying cost of buying a Terminator robot toy (and having to build it yourself), I later saw another advert, for another product equally expensive – in fact, it’s slightly worse…

I’m talking about

An actual battleship! I hear Donald Trump has already ordered 10 subscriptions.

Let’s hope he’s not hoping to send his fleet to North Korea, Russia or Mexico anytime soon. There are 140 issues…

The fact it’ll take Donald Trump, 3 years to receive all the magazines and battleship parts, isn’t the worst part.

What will make me steer clear of this product – besides not having the patience to build the damn thing – is that it’ll cost £1,248.60 to buy all the issues! That’s more expensive than that Terminator doll.

I suppose it can be seen as good value. For example, take a top of the range, modern warship – the Arleigh Burke-Class Destroyer.

This impressive-sounding son of a bitch, costs $1.6 billion – about £1.22 billion. The scale model of the ship in the magazine is 1:200.

200 multiplied by the cost of completing the magazine subscription – £1,248.60 – is £249,720 (note the comma, NOT the dot!). That means the so-called modern warship, the Navy are presumemly buying, costs £1,219,750,280 more than 200 model ships.

Now, if all that logic makes sense to you, you can only be one man… Hello, Mr. President.

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
