I went to Ashton Gate this afternoon to watch Bristol City take on Nottingham Forest – strictly as a neutral!

I have only ever been to three football grounds before today, Elland Road (Leeds United), The Majeski Stadium (Reading) and St. Marys (Southampton). My first impression of Ashton Gate was “it’s a lot smaller than the others!”, still without being disrespectful it does belong to a lower league club.

The game was… well… OK, I have seen worse (Leeds-Rotherham springs to mind) although I have seen much better. There is obviously a golfing class between League One and The Championship (how arrogant!). While both sets of players did well and tried hard they seemed to lack confidence, ball control and most importantly creativity. There were so many chances for the City and Forest strikers to strike the ball into the back of the net but they just took too long and messed it up. I’m not a regular goer to Bristol City games, maybe I caught them on a bad day. If I did then apologies to any City or Forest fan if my comments offended you.

The game finished 1-1 with both goals coming in the second half. Overall an enjoyable time and an experience of lower league football, hopefully one I won’t have to experience with Leeds United unless it is in a cup game.

Leeds were also playing this afternoon, I kept informed via my mobile of the scores, The Mighty Whites were 1-0 up at half time, then 2-0 in the 2nd half, Palace got a consolation goal late on but the game finished 2-1 to Leeds. A fabulous result, especially as Sheffield United only drew yesterday against Crewe.

Sheffield United are currently in 2nd place in the league, the only other automatic promotion spot besides 1st which Reading seem to have in the bag. After today’s results Leeds sit 1 place behind Sheffield, 6 points adrift but with a game in hand. The wheels are coming off Sheffield United’s promotion wagon, if I was a Blades fan I would be shitting myself by now, watch out Neil Warnock, we’re coming to get you!

I was hoping to blog earlier today but I have been without internet since last night, there was a problem which meant I wasn’t able to connect to wire wireless network. Still, all is OK now.

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
