I saw a big spider last night – the second since moving into my new flat. This is becoming a worryingly frequent occurrence, having not seen one in a whole year at my old flat, Newbridge Hill. I hope my new home is not also a dwelling for a family of spiders – I saw a cluster of babies last week!

The spider which invaded my bedroom last night is now dead, having been brought down from the ceiling with vigorous blasts of Raid insect spray, and then pummelled to death with my shoe.

I was then left with a problem. As well as having a dead body on my hands, I also had a bedroom which had been filled with insect killer. Not wanting to be gassed to death in my sleep, I had to leave both the door and window open – exposing me to the cold and ironically, more spiders from outside!

Does anyone know of any animals which eat spiders? I may get one as a pet.

Spiders are predatory invertebrate animals that have two body segments, eight legs, no chewing mouth parts and no wings. They are classified in the order Araneae, one of several orders within the larger class of arachnids, a group that also contains scorpions, whip scorpions, mites, ticks, and opiliones (harvestmen). The study of spiders is called araneology.

Did you know that spiders are one of only five animals that can recognise themselves in a mirror? (and don't think it's another spider) The others are cats, dolphins, mole rats and, of course, humans.

Hello! Hello! Are you there? Hello! I called you up to say hello. I said hello. Can you hear me, Joe?

Oh, no. I can not hear your call. I can not hear your call at all. This is not good and I know why. A mouse has cut the wire. Good-by!

Talking about mole rats, they are the only animals that can turn 180 degrees in their own skin. Fact.

    Speaking of small rodents
    I know a mouse
And he hasn't got a house
    I don't know why
    I call him Gerald
    He's getting rather old
    But he's a good mouse

A spider accidently featured in the infamous playing with the boys scene in top gun only to be squashed by the volley ball. As a joke by the crew he is actually mentioned in the credits and they named him spidey.

This one, I think, is called a Yink. He likes to wink, he likes to drink. He likes to drink, and drink, and drink. The thing he likes to drink is ink. The ink he likes to drink is pink. He likes to wink and drink pink ink

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
