I have been reading through Empire’s 500 Greatest Movies of all Time*.

As the list is entirely opinion-based by the editors of the film magazine and their brain-washed readers, there was always going to be some disagreement with the selection. There are some real questionable decisions though…

One of my favourite films of all time, the 1989 version of Batman, came in at a disappointing #458.

Apparently one of the greatest war movies, Full Metal Jacket, isn’t so great; being ranked at only #457. Absolute madness considering another, arguably inferior war film, The Thin Red was given #79.

Family favourites such as Aladdin and The Lion King were #322 and #319 respectively, which begs the question ‘How did Toy Story 2 get as high as #179?’

Classic movies also appearing shamefully low down the list are Scarface #284, Groundhog Day #259,The Life of Brian #203 and Ghostbusters #189. One of the most disgustingly underrated movies on the list has to be Jurassic Park at 232! That is borderline blasphemy.

There are some stupidly overrated films too. Casino Royale as high as #56. How the hell can that be the highest ranked Bond movie in the Top 500? The only other 007 film to make the list was Goldfinger at #166!

What has made me most annoyed with this stupid list is that they have forgotten what is possibly the funniest comedy of all time – Planes, Trains and Automobiles. The classic family Christmas film, Home Alone has obviously been left in the 1990’s. It is also clear the editors of Empire have never watched FilmFour as Sexy Beast is missing, as is Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels.

All I can say is at least Jaws made the top 5…

Worst crime of all though it their inclusion of The Phantom Menace.

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
