I have made it no secret on my blog that I am not a fan of the TV chef Jamie Oliver. However, in celebration of my dad’s birthday, we went to Jamie’s Italian restaurant in Bath on Sunday.

Despite my negative feelings towards the TV chef, I have to admit that the food served in his restaurant probably the best I have ever tasted. It was wonderful.

At first I was a bit pessimistic. Especially when I saw the menu. Lots of stuff I hadn’t heard of, let alone able to pronounce. Not to mention various dishes with Wild Boar meat – I thought I was in an Asterix comic!

I am quite a fussy eater, so after eliminating what I didn’t like the sound of (most of the menu) I was able to order what did sound appetising. I was more than impressed.

The deep fried mushrooms I ate as a starter were amazing, as was the grilled chicken main and I loved the sorbet which rounded off the meal.

The only problem I have now is eating since the meal. Last night I ate a chicken kiev from the freezer. I normally enjoy these with a few McCain’s Oven Chips and Asda County Fresh Frozen Vegetables. However, after tasting the delights from Jamie’s restaurant, all other food tastes of shit.

This leaves me with one of two options

OPTION 1: Eat all my food at Jamie’s Italian restaurant. A lottery win would probably be required for this.

or

OPTION 2: Kidnap Jamie Oliver and force him to cook for me every day until one of us dies. A Josef Fritzl style basement with built in kitchen would be needed to make this work.

Well done James. You have overtaken Ronald McDonald as my No.1 chef.

If you do kidnap Jamie, can I borrow him once a week? Half
a day should be more than enough time for him to cook me a weeks
worth of meals to stick in the freezer.

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
