I am in a deep state of shock having just been ambushed and assaulted while carrying out my job! I would have expected this kind of danger if I was a policeman, soldier or crocodile hunter, but not working in IT Support within a warm, cosy and up until now, safe office.
The incident took place when carrying out an everyday duty of retrieving a box of printer toner from underneath a desk. Upon examining the box I was caught unaware and viciously attacked by a ferocious spider. The beast must have been at least the size of my hand with teeth like needles (I’m not exaggerating here).
Luckily I managed to avoid death by running away. In the heat of the chase, the attacker also escaped. The concerning thing now is that the spider is still at large, free to attack anyone it desires.
I will try to get on with my normal life and not let this threat distract me from my everyday duties. I must not let the spider terrorists win, but it is very difficult.
Don’t have nightmares.
The whole of Bath has been caped in a thick cloud of fog today, it has felt very Autumnal. Either that or I died last night and am actually in the clouds of heaven. If neither of these is the case, Mr. White and his pisshead friends must have been on a massive drugs binge, smoking cannabis and God knows what else, polluting the air.
Lastly, on a totally unrelated matter, I stumbled across this album today:
I was unaware that BBC Radio 1 had finally got their act together and released a Live Lounge album. I have listened to Jo Whiley’s show for over five years now and have only stopped recently due to work colleagues have forcing Radio Bristol upon my ears. Over the years, I have enjoyed many memorable sessions from the Live Lounge, so was very excited to discover this album. It did not disappoint. Recommended.
Just to remind you all that the excellent Planet Earth returns to BBC1 this evening.
I’m not a regular viewer of natural history documentaries, but avidly followed the previous series. State of the art technology, a highly imaginative production team and the excellent Sir David Attenborough made Planet Earth something really quite different.
So, avoid the risk of 3rd degree burns from fireworks or losing your sight at the hands of a sparkler. Stay in the warm and watch BBC1 at 9pm.
Oh, and well done to Spurs. It’s just a shame I was in the cinema when the demolition of The Blues took place.
In a bid to cure my depression brought on by Leeds, Mr. Goater has dragged me to the pub in town for a hearty lunch and a (non-alcoholic) beverage.
We’re currently in the pub now and I am blogging from my mobile phone.
Simon does have an ulterior motive by taking me out for lunch. It just so happens that his beloved Arsenal are playing West Ham on TV. I think that I am expected to offer morale support and cheer on The Gunners. Simon does not know this, but I’m secretly hoping West Ham win. Only then will he feel my pain – it will also keep Newcastle in the relegation zone. I know that this makes me sound like a bitter old man, but if Leeds can’t have success, why should anybody else.
The food here is good. I ordered a selection of side dishes and starters – salad, garlic bread and a jacket potato (one of my five fruit and vegetables).
Simon made short work of his meal and is currently drinking filter coffee like a gentleman while shouting abuse towards the referee on TV like a hooligan.
I think that I should stop blogging and put my phone away now, otherwise Simon may end up using it as a missile, throwing it at the TV.
