Look what arrived in the post this morning! My World Cup stickers! I was so excited. It is going to take ages to open all 100 packets, though. I spent quite a while this evening opening and sticking, and only managed to do half a dozen packs.

I’m fully aware of the challenge ahead. There are over 600 stickers to collect, with only 5 in each packet. This means, once I have opened all 100 packets I bought from Amazon, even if I have no duplicates, I still won’t have filled the album.

I will, of course, get swapsies. Lots of them, no doubt. The plan is to trade them with Sam. Those I am unable to exchange with him, I’ll have to find somebody else to swap with. I’ll probably hang around outside schools and children’s parks, in the hope we can look at each other’s swapsies. What could possibly go wrong?

At what age is too old to collect stickers? 12? 16? 18? The answer: you’re never too old, stupid!

Sam and I have set ourselves a mission to each complete the Panini 2014 World Cup Sticker Album. It’s a long shot, but let’s face it, there’s more chance of me finishing the collection than England winning the World Cup.

Along with my collection of train models and magazines, I am sure Claire is delighted with the challenge her fiancé has undertaken. She’ll be especially happy when 100 (yes, one hundred) packets of stickers turn up in a few days. I accidentally ordered them from Amazon.

My poor old TV. It is not quite dead, but I have basically sent it to an old people’s home – i.e. disconnecting it from the mains, moving it off the cabinet and replacing it with the newer model (the one from the box bed/gaming room upstairs). It is a somewhat sad day, but it is nice not having to do battle every time I turn it on and Sky HD does look very nice indeed.

My trustworthy, loyal television is dying. It is a little sad to watch it deteriorating. If it was a human, it would be soiling its underwear and losing its memory. If it was a dog, it would be put to sleep. It isn’t a human and it isn’t a dog. It is, however, my friend. Well, kind of. I have spent a lot of time with it over the years. Currently, I have a battle every time I want to watch something, having to turn it on and off half a dozen times before it finally works. This evening, things took a turn for the worse. The picture has gone dark. It is a bit like everything I am watching is set within Wookey Hole Caves.

I think it may only be a matter of time before a trip to the tip has to be made. Luckily, I have a ready-purchased , young, flash replacement upstairs. This was originally bought to play the PlayStation on, but it now appears it’ll be the main TV. Yes, it may be a better model, but I have kind of fallen in love with this old bird and I’ll have a tear in my eye when it’s taken to telly heaven.

I have a new follower on Twitter. Looking at his bio, I think that it is clear he decided to follow me for fitness and bodybuilding advice.

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
