This evening I returned to a football ground which has very happy memories for me. Lodge Road, home of Yate Town. The place where, on Saturday 21st April 2007, Bath City won the Southern League.

It wasn’t exactly the same experience this evening (no pitch invasions this time). The weather in April was a warm spring day. This was a cold, damp, summers evening. In 2007, we were playing for a massive shield and a place in the Conference. Tonight was to improve fitness. There were also about 750 less fans this evening.

Despite the sharp contrast, Bath City’s final pre-season friendly, before Saturday’s big league clash at Chelmsford, was very enjoyable. I don’t think it would be unfair to use the term “out-classed” to describe the difference in the two teams, as a strong City side demolished poor Yate 5-0 – goals coming from five individuals.

A very encouraging performance – bring on Chelmsford!

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

If you are after a website which gives advice on how to hack an iPhone X, download the latest Steven Seagal movie, or view nudy ladies, you've come to the wrong place and may now press 'Back'.

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
