Had a strong response to my question about where the Gary Neville originally phone conversation came from… a little too good. While I want to believe that the ManU defender has had ongoing conversations with students from Bristol who are mates with Tony Adams son (as mentioned in the original call link) I am a little sceptical. So, all of you anonymous people who have contacted me already, boasting about more conversations you have on your PC, why not e-mail me them? I PROMISE I won’t upload them.

Something truly bizarre happened yesterday, it hasn’t happened before and will probably will never happen again. England qualified for the World Cup next year in Germany. This isn’t the bizarre thing (don’t laugh!), the really strange thing is that most England fans are unhappy with their national team’s manager and are calling for his head…

Sven Goran Eriksson was booed by England fans at full time after the team beat Austria 1-0. Are these fans fickle and too demanding? Certainly not! I watched the game and it as terrible! Once again Sven proved that he hasn’t got a clue.

Sven started the game with Liverpool “striker” Peter Crouch. I say “striker” the lad hasn’t scored a goal all season and only managed a handful last season for relegation fodder Southampton. Crouch looks like a giraffe but moves like a sloth, no coordination, slow, doesn’t seem to know what to do. Hopefully this will be his first and last cap for England; he can join the likes of Michael Ricketts and James Beattie on the list on “One Hit Blunders”.

The whole team played badly and besides Crouch these England players are world class, whatever critics may say. It is the MANAGERS job to inspire these players as well as pick the team based upon form and ability. Sven can’t inspire these players and whatever the likes of Beckham and Owen say I believe that Sven has lost the dressing room; he has no respect from his players. They, like the fans have had enough of the useless Swede.

Still, England are through to The World Cup Finals thanks to Holland beating The Czech Republic. The FA need to move NOW and get the Shit Swede out and appoint Big Sam from Bolton. We’re in The World Cup but what’s the point of going with Sven in charge? We all know we won’t get past the Quarter Finals (if were lucky). I strongly believe under the right management England can go all the way and win the competition.

Anyone heard or heard of this Gary Neville prank call that is doing the rounds on the Internet? I first heard about it on WACCOE when somebody posted a link to it. I then checked my website stats and it appears loads of you have been trying to look for it on the net. There are many search strings consisting of “ gary neville phone prank” and “ gary neville recording student prank call” to name a couple.

Had a listen to it myself, it is amusing and sounds authentic enough, I don’t actually think it is a fake! You can download it here, I won’t host it myself as I know it’ll just end up getting hotlinked by forums and I don’t want to piss off my friend who hosts Sparkster.net

Anyone know where it originated from and how it became so popular? Was it featured on talkspot, Soccer AM or something? I would be interested to know.

A few weeks ago I was told about the website Son of Sven, a satire poking fun at Manchester United. Included on the website is a selection of funny songs about “The Bloody Mancs” available for download in MP3 format. I’ve listened to them myself I found them very amusing, especially “One Club I Hate” (to the tune of U2’s One) and “Seasons Since You Won” (Seasons in the Sun).

A CD containing 12 anti-ManU songs by Son of Sven has recently been released and can be purchased through the website. Having enjoyed what I had already heard I decided to invest in a copy (whoever said people who download music never go on to buy it?). The CD sent all the way from Sweden arrived yesterday.

Even if you don’t want to buy the CD, if you’re a football fan with even a slight disliking to the team from Old Trafford, Alex Ferguson, Roy Keane or Wayne Rooney have a look at the site and enjoy!

England are back in action today for the penultimate game of the World Cup Qualifiers. They play Austria who they must beat if the are to stand any chance of qualifying for the World Cup Finals next summer. Of course had England beaten Austria the first time around last year as well as Northern Ireland last month we would already be in the competition and the next two games would be formalities.

England also play Poland on Wednesday who they must also realistically beat to get into the competition. That said if England win today and Holland beat Czech Republic due to some Uefa ruling I don’t fully understand England could have their place sealed tonight.

The England team has a fair few absentees, most notably all the ManU players – Rooney (suspended for being a thug), Ferdinand (dropped for being shit) and Gary Neville (grazed his knee or something). Not a bad thing in my opinion :o)

I cannot see anything but an England win in this game. I had a bad feeling about both the Wales and N. Ireland game but I think England will win comfortably tonight. I’m going for 3-0 to England. Come Wednesday night we’ll be in The World Cup, a competition which will most certainly bring great anticipation, patriotism and eventually misery when we go out on penalties to Germany in the Quarter Finals.

Well I’m not back at work yet, had all intentions of returning today but woke up not feeling too well again so took the day off, guess I hadn’t fully recovered. Hopefully I’ll return tomorrow and I mean hopefully, there’s only so much you can do while at home and a few days playing Fifa 2006 while listening to Radio 1 with their repetitive tracklist is enough to drive you a little loony… well at least I’m not watching daytime TV.

I have also come to the conclusion that I have far too many DVDs. Friends of mine will be reading this thinking “We told you so!” Something has to be done, 70% of my 400+ titles I will never watch again and they are just taking up space on my shelves, what’s more is that these “unwanted” DVDs are obviously worth money!

Not my collection but similar in size

I have made a huge list of all these unwanted titles and sent it to the a company called Filmvault. On their website they offer to collect my unwanted DVDs and CDs in exchange for cash. I haven’t a clue what to expect financially and am awaiting a reply from them with what they can offer. If it’s a rubbish offer the discs will have to stay collecting dust. If a decent offer is made, with a tear in one eye I’ll pack them off in boxes never to be seen again, like an alcoholic pouring his last bottle of Jack Daniels down the sink or a crack addict flushing his stash down the toilet (only to rip open the U-bend 5 minutes later).
