I noticed the clock on my website the other day.
I’ve now been self-isolating for over 70 days! No doubt this will have increased by the time you read this. Unless, of course, I unexpectedly leave the house – something I hope doesn’t happen anytime soon, considering the only place I could possibly be going would involve being transported by ambulance!
As well as catching the dreaded LCF (Lockdown Cabin Fever), the lack of sunlight is probably giving me a skin complexion similar to that of Gollum. My hair is also growing frightfully long…
At this rate, I’ll become so crazy that I’ll paint a football with my own blood and name it Wilson. Just like Tom Hanks did in that film, where he ended up cast away. I can never remember the name of that movie…
Some of this post may have been made in jest. As we are all aware, COVID-19 is a serious and deadly disease and one we must all take seriously.
If staying at home for 70 or even 700 days keeps me safe – as well as protecting my family, friends, the public, hospital staff, etc – I am more than happy to do so.
Despite my physical disabilities, I am lucky enough to be mentally strong. During this time, we must think of those not so fortunate. Individuals who are struggling with their mental health. This isn’t me excusing them should they break lockdown rules – that is still unacceptable – but let us all think about them.
Perhaps send a random text message or email, asking how they are. Be tolerant, respectful and most importantly, be kind… to everyone.
