Maybe I was a little too quick to poke fun at Mother Nature and tease her evil snow-making sister, The Ice Witch. Obviously I underestimated their powers.
The snow prevented over half the office from attending work today. Something which is not funny. Even making my own short journey was a tad treacherous.
While I will not be running for the hills in fear for life (like some people seem to be doing), I am now in full acceptance that you don’t have to be in Scotland to experience problems with the winter weather.
In light of recent events, I have also come to the assumption that global warming is a myth developed by stoned anti-commercialisation hippies and backed up by the BBC in order to give David Attenborough something else to talk about in his nature shows *.
In all my years on this planet, I have never experienced winters as bad as 2010 and 2009. I also cannot remember the last time we had a decent summer. If the world is getting hotter due to global warming, Bath appears to be immune from the apparent affliction.
* for the record, I thought his series Planet Earth and Life were excellent
It appears to have snowed. Cue mass panic throughout Britain “We’re all gonna die” etc etc etc…
No snow yet, but very cold. It’s like an ice rink outside.
Tickets booked for Somerset’s answer to The Rolling Stones. February 19th – Twerton Park.
This is how to commentate on a football game!
