My new fan! Keeps me cool and spiders at bay

Not very nice July weather today! It’s very warm and humid and the sky cannot make up its mind whether to be sunny or to piss it down. Another reason I hate this weather, is that it is “Spider Weather”. I find the horrible creatures love to come into your house during the warm, damp conditions. I don’t like them at all!

To combat the warm weather (not the spiders sadly), I bought a cool (excuse the pun) fan today. Keeps my room cool, is quiet so it can be left open at night and means the window doesn’t have to be open as much, thus reducing the risk of spider attack.

I finally got my Leeds United home shirt in the post. Just 2 days after ordering over the telephone. I’ve learnt a lesion from this experience – never order from the online store, just use the telephone mail order service or the club shops.

Leeds United Retail may have delivered my shirt, but the players were not impressing on the pitch this evening, losing 2-0 to Mansfield in a friendly! The less said about this, the better.

I went to see Fahrenheit 9/11 this evening. Good film, and even though it is a documentary, works well in the cinema. The film is basically a collection of interviews and TV footage about George Bush, the American Government and Military and how they handled events prior to and after September 11th. To put it blankly, it didn’t look good for them.

I normally try to write more than this on the daily updates, but to be honest I can’t think at the moment. Its late, I’m tired and ready for bed!

Bloody Sky+
Turned it on tonight to find I only have 3% of space left on my hard drive!!!
I only have about 30% of recorded programs saved so something has eaten 67% of stuff and it wasn’t Neville Southall!!!

Anyway, I found a link on the Digital Spy forums where I should be able to reset the hard drive. Annoyingly it’ll erase all my saved programs, so I’m doing the long winded process of transferring them onto DVD – alright for some I know!

Good news about my Leeds shirt. The online store finally live again. I got the number from the site and rung them up. **SHOCK** somebody actually answered the phone and it was after 6pm – can Leeds United actually afford to pay their staff overtime?

Anyway, it turns out my order never arrived with them even though the website confirmed to me it had. I was told this sometimes happens. If Amazon’s servers were that crap they’d be in a real state… like Leeds United

I ordered the shirt – again as well as the new away shirt which is out at the end of the month. I was assured this shirt will arrive on the release date. Hmmm… we’ll see

Neville Southall. Football legend. Masters winner. Pie eater.

Day 15 – now half a month and still no Leeds shirt in the post. I decided to ring the retail department direct, cancel my order and get a relative in Yorkshire to buy me one and post it down. Go to the online store and find the bloody site is down! The retail department is an absolute joke!

I was flicking through the channels on Sky Digital yesterday and noticed Masters Football between Manchester City and Everton on Sky Sports. In goal for Everton was the ex-keeper Neville Southall. It brought back memories of when he played for Bradford City in his latter days.

What a right fat git he was! He was certainly a great keeper but made Peter Kay look anorexic! Its surprisingly how he was so good carry all that excess girth around. Mind you a lot of great footballers get accused of being on the porky side. Mark Viduka and Wayne Rooney for one. Some people say Emilie Heskey is fat and brilliant. I just think he’s fat.
