I feel naïve. I was chatting with a friend last night and the subject of Radio 1 came up. I was then reliably informed that DJ Scott Mills is gay, something I struggled to believe – however, after consulting Wikipedia (everybody’s reliable source), the rumours were confirmed. Apparently his sexuality has been public knowledge since 2001. I am a regular listener to his afternoon radio show and was surprised I haven’t found out until now! Not that I have a problem with it, just a little surprised that’s all.

Apparently these other celebrities are also gay

  • Graham Norton
  • Michael Barrymore
  • Elton John
  • Boy George
  • George Michael

Nothing really happened this weekend. Friday night, I met Simon and Mr. Watkins for our weekly Bomberman meeting – the traditional scenes of violence, insanity and melee being ever present.

Saturday I went to watch football. I didn’t make the trip to Elland Road to see Leeds, nor did I travel to Gloucester for Bath City’s away game. I walked down the road to Twerton Park to watch Team Bath. I’m not a fan, but they were playing Kings Lyn, a team challenging Bath City for promotion and I thought I would lend my support to the students of TB (they certanly need it!) in the hope they actually beat KL – which they did. Bath City also won 4-0, which is very, very good. The Leeds result was not as impressive, so I won’t mention it.

Today was just a lazy one. The morning was spent drinking coffee and relaxing after all my exertions yesterday. In the afternoon, Simon came round (note: with a whole bottle of wine to himself) to watch Arsenal play Manchester United. I was very pleased to see the scum get beat 2-1, especially as Arsenal’s winner came so late on in the game. ManU have won so many matches in the dying seconds, it’s nice to see them lose late on for a change.

It’s back to the workplace tomorrow and then flat hunting in the evening. I noticed that the local post office had removed my ‘Wanted’ advert – talk about hindering my plans. I will have to go round and kick some ass tomorrow, or maybe just ask them politely to put my ad back up.

Finally, can anyone make out what this guy is talking about? He phoned into 606 (a football phone in on BBC Five Live) yesterday. The caller certainly doesn’t give the stereotypical, drunken Scotsman image any reason for change.

The whole of Bath has been caped in a thick cloud of fog today, it has felt very Autumnal. Either that or I died last night and am actually in the clouds of heaven. If neither of these is the case, Mr. White and his pisshead friends must have been on a massive drugs binge, smoking cannabis and God knows what else, polluting the air.

Lastly, on a totally unrelated matter, I stumbled across this album today:

I was unaware that BBC Radio 1 had finally got their act together and released a Live Lounge album. I have listened to Jo Whiley’s show for over five years now and have only stopped recently due to work colleagues have forcing Radio Bristol upon my ears. Over the years, I have enjoyed many memorable sessions from the Live Lounge, so was very excited to discover this album. It did not disappoint. Recommended.

I know this is a few days old, but I thought it was worth blogging anyway…

Radio 1 DJ and Leeds United fan Chris Moyles made some surprisingly interesting comments on clueless manager Kevin Blackwell during Thursday’s show.

For those interested, the clip is available for download here.

Was listening to Radio 1 this morning at work, Andi Peters was on the Chris Moyles Show. Andi Peters used to present CBBC in The Broom Cupboard and is surly remembered fondly by anybody who grew up in the 1980s.

During the show (which is currently available on the “Listen Again” service) he talked about cult classic TV shows like Around the World in 80 Days and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, all favourites of mine when I was about seven. Until today I never knew Mr. Peters was only eighteen years old when the presented the after-school show along with Ed the Duck. Adults and even late teens seem so much older when your very young.

Today’s radio feature got me thinking of classic kids TV shows I used to watch and wondered if they were out on DVD. I already have the excellent Round the Twist (as regular visitors to this site will know) but have been desperate for the hilarious Maid Marian to get a release. Well, after a quick search on Play.com I can now reveal that the best children’s comedy ever, Maid Marian and Her Merry Men will be released on a double disc DVD on 20th March 2006.

The title has now been pre-ordered and I’ll eagerly await the delivery.

All together now…

Marian!
Why don’t you carry on with what you’re doing
Cause there’s always trouble brewing
You’ve got to find a way to make a better day
Oh Marian!

Why don’t you carry on with your merry men
And make heroes out of each of them
You’ve got to find a space to make a better place
Oh Marian, oh Marian

So you stumbled across my blog. No doubt after searching for something bizarre on Google. Before you hit that 'Back Button', why not stay and have a read for a few minutes?

However, if you would like a lifestyle blog, written by a 30-something chap, living in Bath (England), feast your eyes on this.

You won't discover how to copy PlayStation 4 games. What you will find is a blog, covering life in the West Country, the highs and lows of supporting two unsuccessful football teams, while sharing a house with a wife and rabbit.

All written by a man, somewhere on the sanity-scale between normal and eccentric.
